for Courses, B&B and Venue Hire
Monkton Wyld is a great place for families to stay -
surrounded by spectacular countryside in walking
distance of the Jurassic coast. Come for vegetarian
bed and breakfast, take part in one of our courses,
or simply book the whole house for a tailor-made
event to suit your needs!
To book, download a
course booking
form
or an
accommodation booking
form
and post it along with your deposit cheque.
We do recommend that you email or phone to check
availability first, especially if your course or stay
is within two weeks' time!
Please note that we cannot guarantee course placement
until a deposit of one third of the cost is received.
To find out more about the various venue booking
options available, please get in touch by
email
or give us a call. We look forward to helping you get
the most out of all the Court has to offer.
Until we receive your deposit, all course bookings
are treated as provisional and will be held for 7
days. Please note that all deposits are
non-refundable
and
non-transferable.
The balance is due one month before the workshop
begins, and is non-returnable in the case of
cancellation.
Making payments
Unfortunately
we don't take credit card payments for bookings at
present.
Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to
Monkton Wyld Court. If you are booking from abroad
and wish to arrange a bank transfer, please contact
us for details.
B&B guests planning to pay the balance on arrival
are kindly asked to be sure to bring a chequebook or
sufficient cash.
Accommodation
For courses:
Accommodation is in shared rooms of two to six beds.
We have a limited number of twin rooms that can be
booked for single occupancy subject to a single room
supplement of £12.50 per night. These are available
on a first come first served basis. Sheets are
provided but please
bring a towel.
For B&B:
There is no single room supplement for B&B
bookings. All bedding and towels are provided.
We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets.
Non-residential course bookings
All courses can be attended on a non-residential
basis. Non-residents are charged two thirds of the
full fee, which covers the cost of the course, lunch
and dinner but not accommodation or breakfast.
Hours
Arrival time is between 4pm and 6pm on the first day
for a course, and we ask you to leave by 4pm on the
last day. Usually the first workshop session starts
at 7.30 or 8pm.
We ask that B&B guests arrive between the hours
of 3 and 7pm and vacate your rooms by 10am on the
morning of your last day.
Late arrivals and absences
We regret that reductions or reimbursements cannot be
made in respect of late arrival, early departure or
absence during any part of the course.
The evening meal is served at 6pm, unless other
arrangements have been made for a particular course.
If you are going to be late arriving, please contact
us as soon as possible, as we can usually put plates
aside. Guests are asked to arrive no later than 9pm,
however, as we do not tend to be on duty any later
than that.
Meals
We provide a serve-yourself breakfast, lunch at 1pm
and supper at 6pm. All food is vegetarian and mainly
organically grown. We can cater for vegan diets and
food allergies with advance notice, but cannot
accommodate individual dietary preferences.
Balance
of fees
We
will send you a confirmation of booking on receipt of
your deposit. Balance of fees is due one month before
the start of the course. If the balance is not
received by then, we reserve the right to cancel your
reservation, in which case normal cancellation terms
will apply. Please notify us if you anticipate late
payment.
Concessions
Funding permitting, concessions are available for
those on low incomes, such as those in receipt of
Housing Benefit, Jobseekers Allowance, Income Support
or Tax Credits. Please note that evidence of status
will be required on application. If you are unsure of
your eligibility, please contact us. All applications
will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us
in writing as soon as possible. Cancellation is
effective from the date of receiving written
notification. If cancellation is made less than one
month prior to the start of the course, whether
deliberately or by default, then the balance of fees
is due in full. This condition is accepted when
booking is confirmed. Balance may be transferred to
another course within one year of cancellation if
notification is received more than one month prior to
the course start date.
Monkton Wyld Court reserves the right to postpone or
cancel a course or change a course leader in the
event of illness or for any other reason. We will
refund or transfer any deposits or balances paid in
accordance with the wishes of the client. The
decision to cancel will normally be taken no less
than one week prior to the course start date.
Acceptance
Monkton Wyld Court reserves the right to refuse a booking without stating a reason.
All the community have calmly and unobtrusively made us feel totally at home.
