There are usually several volunteers at Monkton
at any one time, working in exchange for lodging,
food, learning and experience of community life.

Volunteers come for a week at a time, help with
cooking, gardening, cleaning, office work, and
maintaining the grounds and buildings. Volunteers
work for up to 35 hours per week for between 4-6
days (flexible) including weekends.
Unfortunately volunteers cannot participate in
courses unless they pay but in the evenings there
will be opportunities to join in with a range of
activities such as singing, drumming, yoga,
dancing, or local walks.
Since we do not have childcare facilities at
present, we regret that we cannot offer volunteer
places for people with children unless they are
willing to contribute towards room and board.
Neither can we accommodate pets. We have a policy
of no illegal drugs or excessive alcohol
consumption.
