Set amid rolling hills and within walking distance of the stunning Jurassic coast, Monkton Wyld Court has hosted events for adults, children and families for 70 years. Visitors return time and time again - often just to relax as B&B guests. As well as workshops and family weeks, we teach skills for sustainable living: beekeeping, permaculture, eco-building, green technologies, sustainable land use and environmental crafts.

Monkton Wyld Court strives to exemplify intelligent adaptation to the world’s environmental, social and economic changes. And we need your help.

Through the momentous shifts of the last seven decades, Monkton Wyld Court has come to embody for many the values of communication, cooperative living and strengthening connection to the land, oneself and others. Today a diverse range of people come to learn and share practical skills in sustainable living as well as creative expression and personal development.

We also value our local relationships and connections to the area community. Monkton hosts a growing programme of day events and activities, our resources are available for educational and recreational activities, and the new Wyldside Walk introduces our rich ecosystem to the public at large.

The Court takes part in the NETS South West Dorset Local Exchange Trading System (ask about discounts!) and supports local organic food and land cooperatives.

In 2010, Monkton Wyld Court continues to provide a varied programme of courses, events and themed family holidays, as well as guest accommodation and our popular volunteer scheme. The Steiner-focused kindergarten is developing in exciting directions, and plans are in the works to reintroduce dairy cows, that symbol of Court life for so many, as well as to establish a new polytunnel and land management regime. Essential to all this is a sturdy foundation: combining property regeneration with energy efficiency so that our house is as strong and our lifestyle as sustainable as can be.

We invite you to share with us the spirit of rejuvenation and possibility of this exciting time. Your annual donation from £20 or £100, combined with the various funding sources we are actively pursuing, will greatly advance our efforts.

❈ Steps to improve energy efficiency (reglazing windows, etc.).
